PASTOR JOSEPH & LADY PORTIA HEWITT
Joseph R. Hewitt was born during the Korean War in the Asian country of Seoul, South Korea. His original name was Hai Dong Lee. And he was raised in a Korean orphanage. Nevertheless, the Lord’s hand has been upon Joseph even from his mother's womb. For a woman named Mary E. Hewitt (over 7,000 miles away) prayed, saying, "Lord, if you give me a son, I will dedicate him to you." God answered her petition when she and her husband, Joseph W. Hewitt, adopted Joseph at the tender
age of three. The Lord then ordered the steps of this little Korean orphan to the country of America. His parents, Joseph and Mary, raised him as their son on the West side of the city of Detroit, Michigan. "I am so grateful for these two individuals who were God-ordained to be my parents"; Joseph says. "They helped give me the love and discipline
I needed to be the man I am today. And I’ll always cherish their love and nurture."
